Play & Education
Children learn best when they are having fun and this is exactly the ethos at Rand Farm Day Nursery and Pre-School. Using ‘Planning in the moment’, teaching will be focused around the child’s natural interests.
As you would expect on a farm park, there is plenty to keep young minds stimulated. On their daily supervised visits, children can collect eggs, visit new baby animals and take tractor and trailer rides through the fields.
Babies
Ratio 1:3 – From 6 weeks to 24 months
The Baby Room offers a safe and stimulating environment, which uses sound, colour and touch to encourage the babies to explore their ‘second home’. We strive to mirror the feeding routines, nappy changes and sleep routines you use at home and we supply all nappies, wipes, and formula milk free of charge.
Outside babies have their own dedicated area in the private gardens and enjoy regular visits to the farm.

Toddlers
Toddlers
Ratio 1:4 – From 24 to 36 months
More structured than the Baby Room, every activity in the Toddler Room is considered a fun learning opportunity. Like our other rooms, activities take place within the Nursery building, private garden or on supervised farm visits.
Toddlers are encouraged to enjoy early maths (how many lambs can you see?) develop their language skills, participate in creative play and learn to relax at story time. We will also work closely with you to complement your potty training!
Pre-School
Ratio 1:8 – From 3 to 5 years
Our aim within Pre-School is to ensure that all children are confident, having followed the Early Years curriculum ready for mainstream school.
You can expect your child’s time to be full of learning experiences, split between the Pre-School, the free flow accessed garden, the local community and of course the farm; to see and feed the animals.
Pre-school
Kids Club
From 4 to 11 year olds
Kids Club is bumper packed with activities and takes place every school holiday.
Every day, children collectively decide upon the day’s activities; varying from bottle feeding baby animals to milking demonstrations, tractor rides, go-kart racing and even archery, there’s never a dull moment!

It’s lovely to see the children interact with the animals and have an opportunity to get outside as much as possible. The team teach through play which is just what they need. Fun but education.
